Intended for the most seasoned virtuosos, the so-called "Paris" Quatuors were already being played in 1738 at the Concert Spirituel by the finest French musicians of the 18th century. The styles, rhythms and forms, from France, Italy, Germany and even Poland, are all invitations to play these appealing musical pieces with freedom, expressing the composer's prolific and constantly replenished imagination. Indicative of this "meeting of tastes" recommended by Couperin and played by the great masters of the baroque, these Quatuors bring out the most accomplished know-how of the Les Ombres ensemble.
